Bill, shmilllll. We didn't need the three anchors to hold our own last night but better safe than sorry. I woke up around 3am hoping to experience my first storm on a boat but fell back asleep wondering.... Did I sleep through the worst of it? Maybe it turned east and missed us... Darn. We pulled up all the anchors (which let me tell you is HARD work!) and discussed our next move.

The Obamas were expected to arrive on Martha's Vineyard sometime this afternoon. The chances of seeing them were slim but the hype around town put that surrounding Bill to shame. Bill shmill. Was there supposed to be a storm? I didn't know! I heard the Obamas were coming though... We decided to jump ship and head south to Cuttyhunk. However, before taking off, Joe and I went into town to bring Christy some eggs so we could enjoy her serious breakfast burrito making skills. Anyone who has had the pleasure of eating a Chef Christy specialty knows what I'm talking about. Bon appetite.

While in town we saw the crazed media professionals flurried throughout the streets. Everywhere we looked we saw video cameras rolling. There were reporters speaking in languages we had never heard before. Who knows where these feeds were going. Needless to say, the Obamas coming into town wasn't merely a local news story. En route to Cuttyhunk the radio was sounding off with security alerts. We saw a boat shoot past us with a machine gun locked into the bow. Unfortunately we didn't grab the camera quick enough to get a picture for the site. Shortly after crossing courses with the armed boat, we saw a chopper flying overhead. We must have caught the first family frenzy bug because every form of transit in site we weighed in on the chances of it carrying the Obamas. Later this evening we heard the Obamas landed in the Vineyard by helicopter. Surely it was the same chopper we saw.
