Curious about who we are?  Learn a little more about us.....

Friday, March 9th, Badalona, Spain
Well into our "final" month in Badalona, we are finally getting around to doing a lot of things that we have been meaning to do here, both in terms of tourism and boat projects.  We are looking forward to resuming our cruising lifestyle with mixed emotions.  We've made some great friends here that we will be very sorry to leave.  Barcelona has not even come close to exhausting our wonder and excitement towards its boundless culture, beauty and history.  I am sure we will leave here with a long list of "I wish we had seen/done/tried" items.  On the other hand, we can't wait to get out and SAIL again.  The rest of the Med is awaiting us and we are so excited to start seeing more new places, people, and cultures.

Our social life is slowly approaching the pace I enjoy most - hectic.  We've met some friends of friends who are locals and we enjoyed a couple of great lunches getting to know them.  We had a taco party for some of the students in my Spanish class on a glorious sunny, 75 degree Saturday last weekend.

We went to see "Alegria," the Cirque du Soleil show that is in town through April.  It was truly amazing to behold the talent and pride displayed by the performers in each and every act, from the clowns to the acrobats to the musicians.  Wow.

Our friend from Annapolis, Hal Whitacre, is coming for a visit this weekend and we our looking forward to hosting our first guest here in Spain.  It will be fun to show him the sights and share some of the insight we have gained in living here for three months.

We've got some new hatches being added to our cockpit which will allow us to use a lot of empty space that is inaccessible to us now.  We are working on a modification to our table in the cockpit that will allow us to lower it down and convert it into a bed (keep your fingers crossed) so we can accommodate those extra bodies a little bit more easily.  The boat will be hauled out for standard maintenance, including bottom paint, saildrive maintenance, new zincs, etc. while we are away in Paris over the next weekend.  Hopefully we don't discover any unexpected repairs that need to be done but better now than later.  We finally ordered up a new TempurPedic mattress for our bed.  We had one in our house in Annapolis and Joe has been pining away for one ever since we moved onboard a year and a half ago.

With all of this going on, your guess is as good as mine as to when we will actually get underway again.  Any one want to place a bet on that?  Of course, Mother Nature always has the final say on that topic!

Have a great weekend everyone.  We miss you all more than I can say.

Many thanks to our friend Craig Homenko for his assistance in setting up the website.
We also would like to thank our buddy Scott Brunner who has been kind enough to host the website on his server.
