Nana and Jules in Barcelona -
April, 2007
Sitting on one of Gaudi's benches in Parc Guell.
The fountain show at Plaça
d'Espanya is really spectacular. Thursday, Friday and
Saturday nights.
Aunt Jules checking in with Uncle Mike, who sadly
stayed home.
Easter was extra fun thanks to Avery Harrison,
who sent us a care package while we were in Badalona which
included an egg dye set.
A square in the Barcelonetta neighborhood.
We had lots of drizzle but luckily not too many downpours for
Nana and Juliana's visit.
Somehow they missed the "H" in my name but it was
still too tempting to pass up.
Queuing up for ice cream in front of the Sagrada
Familia.
A precious hug ....and photo.
Checking out Google Earth with Jou at their
apartment in Badalona.
Montse with her daughter Gina (slight
resemblance!) and our girls after raiding the dress up box.
Montse slaved away, preparing both a meat and a
fish dish for us. What wonderful memories.
Tortilla soup on Zia.
Aunt Juliana in front of the Arc del Triomf.
We spent the day in Sitges for Juliana's
birthday.
Sitges is known for its popularity amongst gays.
Check out this piece of floating art!
Juliana enjoying a glass of Rioja with here
paella on her birthday.
Our final days in Badalona - April, 2007
Ramon was the assistant principal at the girls'
school in Badalona.
Ramon put together this collage for us.
Juliana and her afternoon teacher, Sandra.
Esther was Cassie's fourth grade teacher.
Serving up the carrot cake. "Tarta di
zanahoria, de verdad?" Most of the kids had never heard of
it.
Everyone made signs and special pages to add to a
book that they presented to each of the girls.
Even the next door third grade class had gifts
for the girls.
Our Badalona landmark, receding behind us in the
fog.
Juliana and Hobie share a nap.
A nighttime visitor. I'm afraid Hobie
tasted his first blood when this little guy flew into our salon.
We tried to rescue him but gave up our search. Juliana
discovered him the next day behind her door.
