Latest Update:
Tuesday, December 16th, Marin, Martinique
Celebrating with lunch
onshore the day we arrived, the crews of Following Tides
and Zia were all smiles. With only seven hours
separating our arrival times and no major damages to
either boat, we were all beaming with pride at our
accomplishments. The crossing was amazing. It
seemed pretty normal while we were out there going
through the mechanics of it, but at four am, on night
watch, with nothing but the noise of the water rushing
past the hulls and the stars to keep you company, the
enormity of it all was pretty powerful.
The day only got better
as we arrived back to Zia just in time to see our
friends John, Po, Jamie and Skylar arriving on their new
boat, Sky. They had been with us in the Caribbean
three years ago and we were thrilled to be here with
them again.
In true Po fashion, the
Zia crew was invited for dinner and drinks onboard that
night. We hung out on the beach the next day
before tackling all the chores that had built up during
our 12 and a half day passage.
I've been neglecting my updates but did manage to finish
the Cape Verde one.
I hope you enjoy it. I'll get the passage update
finished in the next couple of days and let you know
when I post it. I just want to thank you all again
for your support in following us on our adventures.
It is wonderful to share them with you.
Many thanks to our friend Craig Homenko for his assistance in setting up the website.
We also would like
to thank our buddy Scott Brunner who has been kind
enough to host the website on his server.
